Dracaena 2013 Cabernet Franc

Meeting new friends. One of my favorite things in life, especially when we have the passion of wine in common.

I met Mike and Lori (wine makers and owners of Dracaena Wines) through a mutual friend, David Razzari. I also met Kristi Riley Chewing. We all knew each other on social media, but what joy when you get to meet in person. They all joined me in the Passaggio Wines tasting room one afternoon. I had such a wonderful time and made some lasting friendships.

Eventually, Lori and I traded some wine. I had heard so much about her 2013 Cab Franc. I couldn’t wait to try it. I finally got to sit and try it one evening. I loved how it opened up in my glass while sipping. This wine, coming out of the Paso Robles area, gave off some wonderful blackberry and dark berry aromas along with spice and slight vanilla. On the palate, it gives you a mouth full of dark cherry, black berry, plum, spice, and slight tannin with balanced acidity. A long finish. Nicely done!

If you want to know more about Mike and Lori, and get a bottle of this fantastic wine, check out their website.

I am hoping when they visit again they bring another bottle… 🙂

Cheers

Cindy
